SPEAK WITH ME

SPEAK WITH ME

A Poem by An owl on the moon
"

Teach me how to love you deeply… I want to… in every way… and I make this promise to you… I will.

Speak with me

Let me dance in the lucid waves of your thoughts

Understanding your deepest places

You have dreams, fears, desires, interests, and aspirations

Speak them to me… I will breathe mine into you as well…

Sit by me

May silence sing over us like autumn winds

Recognizing your sweet presence

We need the scent of each other to fill us and define us

Sit here beside me and be with me… just be with me…

Share with me

Give me gifts of chocolate covered smiles

Knowing your loving expressions

I’ll learn your loves as well, to give to you just because

Share with me those small joys that mean so much…

Serve by me

Our hands together making light work

Realizing we were meant to be us

I commit my hands and my back to help carry your load

Serve my needs and let me serve you every day…

Stroke me gently

Weave your fingers in mine like a French tapestry

Appreciating how our heat melts us into one

Sensuality fires passion, you always will be my one obsession

Stroke my skin, and let me learn to please you in every way…

Author's Note

An owl on the moon
Inspired by the book “The Five Love Languages” by Gary Chapman. He lists these as Words of Affirmation, Quality Time, Receiving Gifts, Acts of Service, and Physical Touch. Each of us needs these in a relationship (given and received), though everyone uniquely requires a differing mix in order to feel most loved and accepted…

There was a time, long ago, that all five of these things
were found... then lost. Or, thrown away.
Each of these 5 things are expressed beautifully and I
felt the sensation of a tear well up... are these things
really possible? Can a man really love a woman like this
visa versa? I used to believe this to be true. Now, I find
that life is simply too cruel and at this age, it's simply
too late. Nothing is as it should be, nor ever shall be...
YET, this poem bleeds Hope!! Love it :)

Well Mr.. I got my inspiration from your poem right now.. and actually I need a glass of Ice cold water.. and please do not laughed.
I know that you already felt this way before and maybe you are feeling this way again. That's like a rainbow.. a rare rainbow that only God's know how the colors are painted but the canvas looks perfect in every way. The measurements are real and I can digest the whole poem.
It makes sense to me ...I am glad you wrote it.. I could never put it in better words.
You strike my soul again.. I wonder about how must spirit should be feeling right about this second..I accepted because I love it.

Our hands together making light work

Realizing we were meant to be us

I commit my hands and my back to help carry your load

Serve my needs and let me serve you every day…

I haven't read the book but if this was a prologue to it, I'd definitely grab a copy.. The way you have represented each part of the poem makes it very powerful. The color is an ode to the theme. Over all it is very well written and equally well presented. The love clearly flows through your words. Nice write.

This Chapman is on to something.
I really like your poem he inspired.
To have love such as this would be wonderful.
So well written, beautiful images..chocolate covered smiles.
Craig, do you think there is a love as this?

Craig, I so enjoy the metaphors that you weave, ultimately creating a tapestry of 'perfect love'.... I think most of us only dream of a romance such as you describe, one brought about by two equal partners....giving and taking....

'Sit here beside me and be with me...just be with me...'

Time is one of the most precious gifts we can offer our lover...

Craig, you have done it again. This is everything that one could hope of a loving relationship. It is a wonderful poem.

my fav line is:
May silence sing over us like autumn winds

it has special meaning to me- sometimes, I have found that the times of silence and how they are perceived, mean almost more than words. Although, words have the power to heal, elate and conjure- actions are still by far the most honest and revealing. Excellent write!
