At a loss for words

At a loss for words

A Poem by An owl on the moon
"

Just a glimpse at me…

"

Lost

I’m at a loss for words

All those nouns and verbs

I see her there

Across the sea of humanity

Within a room that smells like time

Baked at 450

For thirty minutes

She smiles sunshine

Laughs like lyrics

To the best song

And to see her dance?

Oh, it’s like the world come alive

Like springtime swallowing winter

I love everything about her

Even when she’s angry

I see that fire in her eyes

And it ignites me

She’s my one dream

All my dreams in one basket

It seems

Can’t imagine being

With anyone else

Not another one like her

In all the world

What?

Would she be better off without me?

What kind of question is that?

Fumbling now

Tumbling recollections

Stumbling over my words

Maybe

I don’t like to think about it

Takes my breath away

No matter what though

No matter what anyone says

My heart is hers

It can’t be otherwise

If I know anything it’s that

But for now

I’m at a loss for words

Maybe just lost…

First of all, I'll address your "note"... each piece I've read from you has been different - each and every one.. so I would definitely NOT say this isn't your best. All of your work is equally great and I, personally, enjoy every word.

Now, for the write. The flow of this piece is amazing... it brings forth relaxation twirling with emotions of love and adoration... also, a bit of mystery. You give away all of your feelings, but leave the reader wondering...holding back a bit of information, but not holding back one iota of emotion - It's absolutely beautiful.

I do have a favorite part that I feel I must point out because, it made me smile..haha

"Within a room that smells like time
Baked at 450
For thirty minutes
She smiles sunshine" -LOVE IT!

As always, it was a joy to read from you... perfectly penned :)

We are lucky when we find a love that gives us such deep strong feelings. I love the line "She smiles sunshine", reminds me of the feeling when smiles are shared in the happy moments. I liked the feeling I have while reading your poem, I feel grounding in reality. I enjoyed this poem greatly.

A thought-like heartfelt shower of words. I'm not here to quarrel on if this is poetry or not, I have experience it and I am at a loss of words for praise, too. I may be in a dilemma of choosing between seeing the words from your thoughts or just standing beside you and watch you tumble down from your words. This also reminded me of a haiku in my mother tongue, let me translate it "I filled up to your brim with my words, your silence overflows". Such is the quality of this write. Well done and keep writing,

Interesting look into your mind The best of friends walk the corridors of our minds and rearrange the furniture .Without fear of rebuke. And I am glad you are looking to both sides and only dusting the furniture for now.Taking stock of the life you led.
As I said I think you here now !!

So each man will look back in time
taking stock of the life he led
To find if he is left wanting
and for who and what he has bled

Best wishes .Remember it may be too lat this year to take the plunge .Christmas is around the corner.Oh what is another season.take your time do it right so you can look back and say i was not left wanting And I was not being selfish

There isn't a piece of writing from you that isn't of the highest standard; you create gentle beauty with every line, no matter the theme.

This post, though sad in places, flows like a dream .. although somehow I feel there are hidden emotions here as if the door to your thoughts are only opened a sigh ..

Questioning but beautiful. Whatever your feelings, when you write you're subtle and that makes for a special heart.

This....this right here, this is poetry. Pure poetry. You say not your best by far, but I say one of my favorites of yours. Amazing words, Craig....

She must be a wonderful muse to have captured such truly beautiful words.

I like this. The words used are simple, but the underlying meaning is expressively portrayed ! I especially love

"Would she be better off without me?
What kind of question is that?"

If love is soo true, how can we even ask that question!

Thanks for this poem! :)

This to be sounds like a crush...how a teenager gets around someone
he really likes. Just my own personal opinion though;).
