Tell her it's okay.

Tell her it's okay.

A Poem by Jessica Lynn Polley

Racing toward red lights, because I am going no where fast.
Fact is I feel it right now and I am still not scared to crash,
because it would be beautiful in that timeless sort of way...
boy saves the girl...tell her it is okay...

As you pace the white washed halls, with angels singing in your ears...
that moment when your world stops because it is all right here.

A solemn shake of the head has shattered your whole world,
because you put everything into her, it all depended on that girl.

Falling to your knees, and your ask your God why?
Why give her wings, if she was not meant to fly?

Why must you punish the only beauty ever seen?
Why would you show me an angel and then take her away from me?

Than it is whispered in your ears from somewhere near and far...
A soul such as hers belongs with the stars.

Her passion was so bright, it burned inside her form...
Eating up so much of her, until she was no longer yours.

The push and pull of relationships is unlike anything else. Nice job capturing that thought through vivid imagination.

Such a great ending. Nicely done.

The beginning and end were my favorite parts. It's sad, sure, but the important thing to me is that it seems sincere or real. I really enjoy the thought put into this poem. Might want to change "than" to "then." Just a silly typo... I do it all of the time :)

I was way off
Beautiful... A poem about loss and the sadness and the helplessness you feel, when you watch someone you love slipping away, with the knowledge that there isn't anything you can do. You scream, you cry and ask the question why? but in the end all you can do is be there for them, and know that even though their leaving... A part of them will live on in you forever.
Great piece

A poem of longing and loss, well done.

Sad and beautiful. Some of us just have a lot of feelings. What do you do when they become too much?
People die every day. Sometimes young. Is it really a tragedy? Or are they the lucky ones, since they will never feel pain again? Are things really meant to be, or is it really all just meaningless?
These are the thoughts this poem gave me.
