Conciliate

Conciliate

A Poem by Brian Custer

Conciliate

By Brian Custer

I wish I were
the tree that stands
upon the mountain
we climbed and fought
standing strong our roots
 (of love so deep)
the wind; blows the leaves
of our doubt
our chance; always there
with no retreat
seen for miles this tree
(glows at the top)
reaching for your limbs
to grow with me
those roots will dig deeper
(and never stop)
