Yesterday's Today

Yesterday's Today

A Poem by Charles
"

for grandma

"

So many days

have come to pass

Reminders of time

That moved to fast

The fabric you weave

from patches of time

Form a quilt unfamiliar

to a life so sublime

You see you

looking at me

But question whom

is this you see

Less like today

more like the days before

You see the child

but the man you ignore

We taste your scorn

it has simmered for years

Bitter like lemon rinds

but you don't want tears

Yesterday's today

the past was just now

Longing for that time again

only furls the brow

an emotional piece..there is a bitter sweet feeling here..

This was a really sweet poem, yet deep, as it talks about time which people always wished could turn back. This was good. Great job.
