Thought's From My Shadow's Reflection

Thought's From My Shadow's Reflection

A Poem by Charles

Your dilemma causes a stitch to my side,

Only a blackened image of your better self

Envy has so engrossed the better parts

So few and small as they are.

Such folly is a wonderous intoxiciant.

Make more plights to dream impossibly

From false reflections of fancy

Bout the desires of a heartless imposter.

I don't smirk to hide joy, rather to boast,

As is of your intent while the sun's away

When you can move as you please

I've yet to hear of your regret for that.

Still I will take delight from your agony,

The darkness has spoiled you sight

You remain oblivious of your material

And long for something you can never be.

I love the last two lines. They speak like sharp needles. Everyone ignores what they have, and want to be something that they aren't, or wish to grasp things that are impossible to reach. But then again, that's why we dream. However, I feel unless we look at it from both ways, we will always be failures. Anyway, good write!
Great job!
