My Mad Hat Tea Party

My Mad Hat Tea Party

"

A poem about a first kiss.

My Mad Hat Tea Party

Twirling round and round

Orange, yellow and pink

Swirl together.

Laughter surrounds us

As we spin in our own tea cup.

What’s up Mad Hatter?

We’re on hallowed ground,

Disneyland, where life is bliss,

Because you’re holding my hand.

Your eyes are so blue

I just wish you knew what

Was on my mind besides that

Little freckle on

The side of you lip.

That’s when I took

The best sip ever,

When you leaned

In and softly kissed me

On my pink bazooka lips.

My sweet,

How did you

Know that

I like honey

In my tea?

Great write. Descriptive but not overly so.

Oh, man. That ending! So fantastic! Of course, the entire thing was, but that ending really, really got me. Wow, what a great piece! I loved it!

At first this poem gave me nausea. lol. Memories of a "Teacup" incident at the town carnival still haunt me. After the first stanza it became a festive treat. It was sweet.

Love Disney, but my wife got to do thevteacups with my daughter, but I can see vividly this happy little scene of yours play out. Quite charming.

Thats one image of a first kiss full of colors and flavor. I would choose a slightly different flow in the stanzas, other than that I liked it, especially this part:

Twirling round and round
Orange, yellow and pink
Swirl together.

Thanks for sharing. Keep writing.

I can visualize the first kiss of youth. A sweet, yet awkward moment.

Do they still make bazooka bubble gum?
