First Born

Don’t you want to know me, to understand?

Why do you keep pushing me to a distant land?

Don’t you know my heart is soft?

Just a smile and a hug from you, and it would lift off.

I’m made of flesh, bone and water

Don’t you remember me? I’m your first born daughter.

For a minute I thought this would be from the second born to the first born or the parents, but the last line makes it very poignant. Well done. Talented you are, miss.

OUCH... it can be so painful when a child feel the neglect of the parent... that last line was so simple yet really stings.

And as you, I have asked this same question! You have expressed the frustration of feeling as if one is forgotten in a way that causes my heartstrings to flutter.

Your last two lines are especially "point-on"!

The image is also one that grasps my attention as we may often feel like we are wearing a mask in this event called life! Why do others not see us as we are? I have not the answer to this question, and it grieves me!
