New Puppy...A Poem by chuck
She told her friends I'm a rescue, I'm not sure that it's true
I still haven't quite decided just who rescued who But I'm no longer in a cage, so I guess that I'm just braggin I know l'm one lucky puppy, just watch my tail a waggin' She brought me home, pretty nice place I said I peed on the carpet, then I found my bed My life as a puppy seems pretty great What time is breakfast, I hope I'm not late My owner loves me, I know that it's true She keeps giving me all kinds of toys to chew I can run fast with her slipper, full speed She's pretty quick but I'm still in the lead Can't lay around there's too much to do I know in the closet there's a shoe I can chew I barked at the children coming home from school They all had to pet me, I guess I'm just cool I'm new on the block, off to meet some new friends There's no hugs or handshakes, we sniff our rear ends An unusual custom, yeah, I guess that it's true But we're four legged critters, that's just what we do Tomorrow I'll start all over again Pee on the carpet so I know where I've been My life as a puppy it seems pretty sweet Fill up my bowl, it's time to eat © 2023 chuck |
