Always

Always

A Poem by Angela Mulley

Always I've been sat
here. Still in the grass, to breathe
the scent of flowers
and see the dew set before
sunrise, still, as the
night, hungry
came to embrace
them all.  Always I've
been sat here.  Even before
this morning began.

Nice use of emjambment-- it hightens the flowing effect of "always" theme of the poem. Oh yes, and the last phrase "Even before this morning began" really continues the poem into "always"-- know what I mean. That's brilliant.
