Nervous break down

Nervous break down

A Poem by Clare Ashbury

Nervous break down

Of tears and blood

Missing the parts of happiness

Of a childhood glow

Anxiety never wilts

Depressed to the core

Thoughts of suicide arise

Forever and more

Comes so fast it never creases

Tears deepen and then start seeping

Burying the visions

Working on a life time

It’ll never last forever

Taking everything for granted

Not caring anymore

Trying so hard to find every moment

I’m sorry

Fumbling for every word that could make everything better

Nothing will work

Help me

Nervous break down

Now I cut across my skin

One layer splits

Eyes are unseeing

Mind is trying so hard to mend

The nervous break down has taken over

Tired and alone

Someone  help

Thoughts of dark deathly fantasies service

Never to deny that I am unhappy

In almost every way I am unhappy

Heart breaking

Never loving arms to embrace

Bravery dies

Yet still I am alive.

Missing something

End.

I have been in this place so many times, and I'm sure will be again. You did a fantastic job of describing the pain and hopelessness of depression.
