first it was awkward silence

i remember

the first day i met you

just you me and my best friend to the movies

a full year ago

then it was a simple 'happy birthday'

we were 'almost best friends'

now my best friend is far across oceans

distant

left me alone

but you came and took his place

his supposed role because he promised

to support me

yesterday

we went to the movies

just like a year ago
