Great Escape

Great Escape

A Poem by Ivory
"

Wanted to show that i can write about other things. Trying something new...

"

Rather get lost in love,

Than in the madness of the world.
Sometimes wishing I was a still a little girl.
Simple pleasures,
Now long lost memories.
Life use to be so easy.
Instead I worry about things, like paying my rent.
Putting food on the table,
Living check to check.
Relying on every last cent.
Meanwhile the powers that be,
Look right past people like me.
Frustrating trying to raise a family,
With everything that’s happening around me.
War, crime, the failing economy,
Everyone’s job on the line;
I thank God I’m still holding on to mine.
That’s why I rather get lost in someone’s eyes.
Bedroom sessions that blow my mind.
Feel my heart race, my insides pulsate…
I just want to escape.

Its truly a difficult time now that we are on a recession,
and my semtiments are with you, nothing more joyous than to be
a child, a little girl again,
