9. don't be embarrassed

A Chapter by Jordan Williams

what sad sound has reached my ears?

a straining voice to resurrect guilt

honesty declared with no shames or fears

a bleeding heart dried as i begin to wilt

as i lie, line after line, mistaken

inspired and infected, letting the true and fake in

what sweet sound arouses my ears?

engineered by how many revisions built?

a windblown whim or grandness planned for years?

plunged into my everything up to the hilt

as i lie, night after night, awaken

soothed and stung by what i leave and take in

please do not sing

those earth-shattering verses

words that more words bring

but could not be said in person

yes, please do sing

til i am devastated

my skies are crumbling

dropping words expertly stated

opening passages that i give up to

hoping in paths i could not live up to

I found this to be a really nice read, but that's an understatement.
"inspired and infected, letting the true and fake in" something about these words really grip my brain in a way that keeps me wanting to reread it out loud over again. I really enjoy reading things that allow for me think about it, though probably harder than what's needed. I will probably start to ramble soon, so I should probably stop here before it gets to that point.
