Irrational Compassion

Irrational Compassion

A Poem by cynicalbeliever
"

Hard to describe, you'll either get it or you won't. Based on a dream.

"
Keep calm,
Breathe,
Hands clasp,
I'm falling fast.
Cars around scream their pain,
Twisted metal stretching skywards,
Their blood spilling a slick black on the road,
In the midst of it a mass of what used to be people.

Keep calm,
Breathe,
Hands clasp,
I'm falling fast.
A touch,
A feeling,
A thought,
That's all it takes then I'm gone.

Keep calm,
Breathe,
Hands clasp,
I'm falling fast.
The pain overwhelming,
Despair destroying,
Feelings of the dead,
Dragging me with them.

Keep calm,
Breathe,
Hands clasp,
I'm falling fast.
And then hope,
The tiniest bit follows with the ambulances,
The beacons light the despair,
Then I'm back covered with fear.

Keep calm,
Breathe,
Hands clasp,
I'm falling fast.
I've lost my fear of falling.
