Letter to Home

Letter to Home

A Poem by George Love
"

A letter from the other side to give hope and strength to those left behind.

"

Letter to Home

Worry not for me,
I’ve found a new home
It’s not that I didn’t like the old one,
But this one is so much nicer,
And though I miss everyone terribly
I can say I see you every day
I hear your thoughts and kind words
I see your sadness as you miss me.

Worry not now.
This place is so much nicer,
And I’ve met so many who send their love
I’m not supposed to send this,
But they let me do this once
Because they say you miss me so much,
And no one here wants to see you so sad.
This place, they won’t let me describe
They say you must come see for yourself
But don’t rush, not that I don’t miss you or want to see you.

You see, my new home was ready for me
But yours, well there’s a new coat of paint for the walls,
And I’m not sure I like the carpet they picked out
And the stairs weren’t quite to my liking
But the view is just what you would want.
It’s just not ready for you quite yet
So haste not to come see me so soon

Besides, there’s plenty of time
Once you all arrive.
We’ll sit and laugh at all our silliness
And we’ll do that until
We find others new to this place.

They say I have to send this now
So I’ll close with a heavenly kiss
I hope this finds you well
My memories of you live so clearly
Good times all, the bad, if any are all gone
For now I share my love for you with others
As I welcome someone new at the gate.
Goodbye for now, it’ll be only a moment to me.

I LOVE it! I am not a religious person, so cannot really declare the drawn to this particular poem; but I enjoy spirituality, and live my life filled with love and compassion; and whatever religious belief or spiritual alignment any person chooses; this poem sends chills to the core. We have all found ourselves losing loved ones, and no matter where we come from, this poem touches that very moment.
Comfort, yes, but Love. I feel Love in this. Tears of joy and compassion fill my eyes and I must admit the love I have for this.

This is such a wonderful, warm, and heartfelt piece, and thank you for weaving it so beautifully!
