Quickly

Quickly

A Poem by George Love
"

From a pet's perspective

"

Quickly

As quick as she could
She pounced, never knowing
Which way it would go.
Quickly, fast, get, get it now.
Frantic she tries
And touches it so lightly,
Again it skitters off the slippery floor
Fast, now fast slides to a stop
Get it, now get, before it’s too late
Batting it quickly, now it flies
Running again, the faster she flies
Now, now! Get it! Get it!
Alas it is now gone
Lost, forgotten, she glances
Under the couch her toy now hides
She’s off for a drink, then she sits
And washes her face
With two furry paws.
