Detestation

Detestation

A Poem by Colin H.
"

I don't really want to describe this one too much.

"

Though perhaps truer words have never been spoken

Never has a purer soul been brought down or broken

For this hatred and anger that boils within most

Has found its way out and indeed into a new host

How can it be

That no one can see

Their own dark infestation

That brings my detestation

And from deep inside
Comes what I no longer hide...

I hate you.

Crawl out from your shell

And take your place in hell

For where you belong

Is with those you've wronged

Eyes bled out from crying

Unknown cause for dying

Let me tear out your heart

Let me help your skin part

Let me tear out your eye

Let me laugh as you die

Let me spit at your face

Let me cause you disgrace

For never did I

Get to bid you goodbye

And though I can dream

To tear you apart at the seams

To stab pain into you

I can't deny what is true...

It won't cause the same devestation

As your now returned detestation.

I REALLY, really like this one. The only issue with it is that it reminds me of my own hate towards others- and myself.. I recall the wrongs that they have all committed against me and others, the wrongs they are unaware of, and then I realize that I have done just as terribly, I am certain..

This is very though provoking. I've never heard hatred spelled out in such a well done manner. And my personal favourite line, no matter how simple: "I hate you." In the context it just works perfectly. It doesn't sound off or wrong or too blatant. It fits.

Very good job.
