Divisively Disenchanted

Divisively Disenchanted

A Poem by conceited_cats

You see us escape
in the only way
We’ve learnt
To express the pain
Of a system that’s failed us
And you rebrand it
Call it to blame
For the soaring disenchantment
Fight for survive mentalities brought on by the very deprivation
For which we need this relief
And you ban it

Is that what retribution means?
Cos we’ve stopped telling ourselves
the end justifies the means?
When the mechanism
we’ve adopted to cope
They twist,
Hang us with
& then bill us for the rope
