Roots?

Roots?

A Poem by Constance-Outspoken
"

Just a thought... studying my own mind

"
I've
found
sometimes
when I am in love,
I begin writing my own
romance as we go, and I
envisage the story's ending first,
forgetting all of the things that are
supposed to come between "hello" and
happily
ever
after

.

To many people do that. They want the end result without the journey to get there. I like this and the form in which you wrote it. Kudos.

The imagery in this is beautiful! I adore the structure also:) xx

Well written...the poem itself is really good...but the visual of n arrow or tree, both have metaphoric value, is very cool. .

i love the foundation of this poem and the love that grew from and through it - like the picture of the tree i see the strength in the words written on slices of trees

Sharp self-observation, and very well-crafted! The structure is interesting too! Awesome piece!

Spoken like a true romantic... don't we always look to far ahead sometimes and forget we have to work on it to get there... nothing wrong with getting lost in love, we just need to use our compass now and then.

I find the sentiment compelling. You know, I like your honesty.

love this bit of arboreal "shaped verse". the tree (or arrowhead, if you interpret the piece a different way ...?!) in itself is brilliant, but what is says is even better, because it's so true and naturally expressed, and the line breaks are spot-on for the feelings they suggest. well done!!!
