Fire or Ice

Fire or Ice

A Poem by Invisible Ink

sands burnt my feet
every step a rattlesnake
recoiled and waiting for
just the right time
to bite at my over-cooked remains
the suns i once wished for
in that oasis in time
shook that poisonous tail
baked me blind

pale sun
creating halos in my eyes
when the cold froze my insides
like the fish in the deep freeze
waiting to be eaten
down to the bone
in my teeth
creating the bare space
in between

in the heat and in the cold
survive somewhere
rising up from a rock
a tiny seed, or a parachute
blown with a wish
and falling, where ever
it falls and it does it
in the same way

the allegory is such a unique feature of the poem... depicts about life the way it is.. very descriptive and open to lots of interpretations
