Life Leaks In

Life Leaks In

A Poem by Invisible Ink

Previous Version
This is a previous version of Life Leaks In.

Life leaks in
through the cracks
after the door is closed
after the swells and swallows
of that immense ocean
in the blackness of feeling
one hand in front of the other
eyes shutting out everything
tongue-tied and silent
sounds only of breathing
catch of ragged air
out of darkness
and life leaks in still
through the molecules
after the curtains are drawn
after the pulse and the beat
of that red tide
in the numbness of motion
one foot in front of the other
sight blinded and mumbling
words without meaning
bouncing off walls
vibrating waves collide
life leaks in
