"Human Nature"

"Human Nature"

A Poem by Logan D.

Same ship, different captain.

We all want the same thing,

but most allow they're too good for mutiny.

Shameful to say the least.

They're Plato in the beginning,

but by the second movement they're playing Pilate.

It's human nature I suppose.

For God so loved the world

that he gave his only begotten son...

For what?

So man may continue to pass judgment on his brothers

 just like his savior?

They sit and reason, yet stand and condemn.

They judge with the gavel,

and sentence with the sword.

They sit and wonder why everyone hates them

As they count the dollars they’ve made

Talk is cheap

and lies are expensive

This world isn't perfect but what I have truly noticed is the nicer person you are the more people will stab you with the sword. Amazing poem and definitely so true.
