My five minutes

My five minutes

A Poem by Violet Chan

i heard the world,
a new place where i knew nothing
behind those lovely curtain
i held it,
learned the four colors,
stared at the solstice,
where all danced to a typical tune
viewing through the window
beyond the curtain
butterflies flew in
with an unknown kin,
which i embraced later,
little did i know it went bitter
heavy wings on my back,
colors became brighter,
my own melody was made
for the leaves that fell in the rain
a step on the edge,
down the vast ocean bed,
cherishing the special scent,
a silence before i fade.
