Buried with the Roses

Buried with the Roses

A Poem by Violet Chan
"

Too much of the invisible fog that blinded a girl who wanted to rest in the lapse of mother earth. A sad one~ so simple and ordinary.

"
She loved the red roses,
They meant love with hurt to her,
The more you love, the more you get hurt when they leave you,
It wasn't just about love and hurt,
Each time she looked at them,
She felt alive yet so dead

Being lost in the thoughts,
Mesmerized by its beauty,
So pure yet toxic

She plucked all the leaves and spread them on the floor,
She felt happy and dizzy

All the roses were alive,
They cherished her presence
In the rain, in the summer, in the storms,
They all knew her time was near
So beautiful yet ugly
To the dearest of hers,

Shoddy shook her world,
She fell on the floor,
The thorns enveloped her before she kissed the bleeding petal,

Painfully yet happily
Her eyes got shut
And was never opened again.

Someone who witnessed, realized,
Beautiful things, be killed.
