The Two of You

The Two of You

A Poem by Crystalbluepersuasion

The gleam in your smile
The sparkle in your eyes
Little chubby fingers
Big, bright eyes

Where did my heart go?
Its there, in your hands.
Where did the time go?
Down through the hourglass-
Grains of sand.

Pushed, pulled, toiled, scrounged.
Still somehow failed to make you proud.

Redemption day will ensue,
As timing becomes right.
We will find peace-
Just not tonight.
