As I Want It

As I Want It

A Poem by Crystalbluepersuasion
"

I wrote this when I was 13. Just came across it in one of my old journals and thought I'd share...

"
I want the homeless to no longer linger in the streets,
the poor children to eat.

I want the animals to no longer be killed by men,
to live as long and healthy as God has intended for them.

I want people people to accept each other for who they are,
not judge them by their clothes or their car.

I want the sky to be clear again,
to be free of the disconcern of men.

I want drugs to disappear,
to leave the minds of the many who peer,
who peer through their eyes and think mad things.
Who don't recognize the beautiful things.

The things that we do, the things that are always so dear and true.

Like the warm touch of a mother to her child,
the sweet sight of the children who smile.
The birds that sing, the bells that ring
in top of the chapel while the people sing...
they sing the love of God.

They see, they see how sad you are...
when your mind is filled with nothing but mad things.

I wish the world could be...

As I Want It.

This poem, albeit old, is like a page from The Diary of Anne Frank. She said, "I think people are basically good."
Crystal, I hope you never lose your optimism...
