War

War

A Poem by Cristina E. MCcombs

There is this war inside me,
and comfort is a hell of a drug .
it's everything i thought it would be
and i find myself stuck .
they say misery loves company
and i taste it on your lips
and it leaves me tongue twisted .
you leave nothing but your fingerprints
there's destruction with each step you take ,
and you have a heavy foot
you were my biggest mistake
Mr.Misunderstood
my light wasn't enough
and my dark was to empty
my skin to tough
but still you took plenty
there is this war inside me

Inner complications of a poet speaks through this poem... I think the poetic language was superb to describe the confusion of the mind...

Good write, poet having a crisis in poet's mind, vividly expressed , blaming another person called Mr. Misunderstood as the reason for the suffering
