Drip, Drip, Drip,

Drip, Drip, Drip,

A Poem by Iftwopoetswerestranded

The official story says you fell away,

from all the good things

You tried to do every day,

Now You need a new body to haunt,

the ink drips from this pen

to account for the dark places you’ve come,

Turn the page, turn to me,

brush against the pen strokes

of a beautiful calamity,

Withdraw inside of yourself,

clawing outward for a little pity,

gloom turned sideways

turns out to be pride,

why are you not surprised?

Drip, Drip, Drip,

says the corpse in the garden,

Secrets are left behind my

decomposing life,

falling away in passing moments

and colors to you.

Like a surgeon I am asking you

to open this wound and study,

the raw, wild streaks of new

words gathered before they fester,

like old things, infection,

Drip, Drip, Drip,

says the corpse following you,

pull me out,

for god’s sake do something today,

with your life,

before it beats away

into the night
