The Perfect Life

The Perfect Life

A Poem by Stonz P.
"

For best experiences read whilst listening to the song

"

When I was 16 I had a sister for 6 months

I arrived one February morning, pale and shell shocked

from a past life I hope she cannot imagine.

She was 3 years younger than me

but in no time we became friends.

We’d listen to my mix tapes

Dead Can Dance, Felt, This Mortal Coil…

I introduced her to my favourite books,

gave my clothes, perhaps her first cigarette.

Sometimes we would head down to Blackbirds Moor

to watch the barges on Grand Union in the twilight.

I said: “The water has no memory.”

For a few months everything about our lives was perfect.

It was only us, we were inseparable.

But gradually, I passed into another distant part of her memory,

Maybe she still remembers my face, my voice, even my name.

We have got

We have got the perfect life… x

All words are Steven Wilson's! This is just an interpretation of the other side of the story in the original song.

Just experimenting around. The song has gotten to me since I first heard it. Could not stop imagining the other side of the story.

Hey! wait for another review because I am checking out this at work and Youtube is not working or say blocked today. I am fan of Steven Wilson so that made me think what song you have posted here and I just got too excited.

No worries man... knew you'd like it ;-)
Peter, I love the part about water having no memories. That just shook me somehow, that particular line.

I did not really comprehend some parts of this. But is it supposed to be like that?
