![]() The Perfect LifeA Poem by Stonz P.![]() For best experiences read whilst listening to the song![]() When I was
16 I had a sister for 6 months I arrived one
February morning, pale and shell shocked from a
past life I hope she cannot imagine. She was 3
years younger than me but in no
time we became friends. We’d
listen to my mix tapes Dead Can
Dance, Felt, This Mortal Coil… I
introduced her to my favourite books, gave my
clothes, perhaps her first cigarette. Sometimes
we would head down to Blackbirds Moor to watch
the barges on Grand Union in the twilight. I said: “The
water has no memory.” For a few
months everything about our lives was perfect. It was
only us, we were inseparable. But
gradually, I passed into another distant part of her memory, Maybe she
still remembers my face, my voice, even my name.
We have
got We have
got the perfect life… - x © 2017 Stonz P.Author's Note
