Late Hour

Late Hour

A Poem by JacobMarloe

marooned on this rock, you took the last boat
sailed to sea, I wish I could float
rock bottom is just what I've reached
down here is where my heart has been breached

you've kissed me
Ive missed thee
fooling me with that false sense of civility
misplaced love is where Id like to go, I'm gasping for air pulled by an undertow
it just doesnt feel like it used to be

It was just for tonight, it'll never be forever
strummed my life's chords on a lyre
sung and danced past the late hour
made promises that Ill never keep
her sweet heart to break
