Poem From A Dream

Poem From A Dream

A Poem by Brooke Wake
"

I really did dream this, and woke up and wrote it.

"
If I'm ever to remove this nauseated pile
Of rumpled flesh out from beneath
Glowering rubble of rock

If I'm ever to scale stone again

Remind me to enlist
A second person, all the way up
Whose sole purpose
Is to hold my hair
So that I may let go of myself
And others.

Burn it all and rise
Upward and beyond.

Were you reminded? and did you have that person hold the hair from your eyes and unblock the ears? And then did you find out you really didn't need another to do what you really wanted to do all along - but perhaps had forgotten how for a little while?

Thank you ever so much, Ed. Glad you understand the unharnessed balance of not jilting an insouciant bit of poetry from a wired subconscious. I like them as they are, jumbled as the might be.

skipping over the freudian ohmygosh, and nodding lightly to the jungian armada, i would say don't let this dream get away until you've worn the edges off of it...and, how nice to see you making the rounds, ed
