the truth about words

Staring at a blank page
Our relationship has been complicated for a while
Like an artist with a blank canvas,
Writer's block is my curse
But no..not writer's block
Inspiration is abound,my imagination is in check
I try to write them down, but i don't find the words i seek,
My desperate search begins.

i gaze into space
My strength is slowly being drained from the core,
For without my writing, i am incomplete.
Like a violin without strings,
The music is there but it just wont play.
Why can't i find you my lifelong friend,
My first true love.

I try, i try so hard to put my feelings into words,
But the words fail me.
I may have to give up, but not without a fight.
Though my strength may betray me, I'll write till the last breathe,
Because my words are my tool, my weapon and my life.
My words are my true reflection, the mirror to my soul.

This is how i come alive, this is me.

Without my words i am dead,buried in the depths.
Silence is my arch nemesis, sworn to eternal hatred.
I may try to deny it but my words are my greatest companion.

For now my friend may have hidden away  from me.
I may be unable to find you,
But deep down i know the words will always be there
I know for certain that is the one thing i can always hold on to
Change is constant, life uncertain,
But as long as i have the power of words,
I am free.

This was an amazing piece.
I loved it because i can relate just like most writers could, we writers are nothing without our words, when spoken we cant seem to get out what we want quite properly, we say the wrong things, we dont know how to fut it, or we forget half of what we were going to say.
But give us the silence, a quite room, A pen and some paper, or a computer with a word document open... or anything to write on for that matter, and our words all rush out of our mouths like they were dieing for an escape...

I loved this piece because it was brilliantly penned very true, with such meaning, and emotion put into it.
Its also a great piece because it was written straight from your heart :)

Last freedom to be took. Ability to think, read and write. I believe education is the key. A educated people won't fall to pretenders. I like the journey in your poem. Words still have great power. I wish our leaders would have conversations before negative actions. Thank you for sharing the excellent poetry.
