If you love her, and want to affect her, echo her behavior.
Be a mirror you can use to show her herself.
If she loves you, she'll begin to question.
If she begins to question, she'll start to see.
If she starts to see, she might understand.
If she can understand, she could believe.
If she believes, if only for a moment, she'll see your soul.
If she can see your soul, if only for a moment, she'll be angry because it wasn't what she expected.
You'll become angry, and see a mirror of your behavior.
Your poem strikes me as a mix of ideas I can agree with & also I must disagree with. Growing up in an abusive family where the perpetrator (dad) was very narcissistic, I hate the idea of reflecting back (like a mirror) to a person, the way that person wants to see him/herself -- that's the definition of narcissism & I hate the way that goes in relationships. People need to be themselves, naturally, not putting on any act or game to manipulate the journey of love and/or friendship. But I respect your poem becuz you show how it can be many times in many relationships. In fact, your poem may be showing the very thing I hate about this game . . . so clearly & with strong details (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie
