Craving Mercy

Craving Mercy

A Poem by Phillip Francis

Unable to concentrate, can't change what I've said.

At that very moment, all I saw was red.

Struggling to complete the simplest task.

Regretting my actions, forgiveness is all I ask.

Constant pain, tortured soul.

I need you back, to make me whole.

Life is meaningless, without your companionship.

Existence can only be fueled by this partnership.

Emotions run wild, my heart hangs heavy.

Flooded with regret, like a broken levee.

Whatever it takes to get you back.

Patience and restrained is what I lack.

A work in progress, before long, I'll be what you need.

Meanwhile, absolution is what I plead.
