THE CELL

THE CELL

A Poem by dakarai
"

"The things you own end up owning you. "

"
Ownership is a strong allegation;
Being turned out by one thing you power
Off and on, gone hour upon hour,
Upgraded to a new acclimation.
A matrix of android applications
Activate the bars, whose signals tower
Above the attention that gets showered.
Glower, as drops create agitations.
However fast or slow you go, you know
What to do with, without doing without.
Volumes of models throttle high and low,
Leaving users either grieving with doubt,
Heaving, or with eyes gleaming from the glow.
These captives are captivated with clout.

Being able to divest yourself of "things" is a sort of freedom. It is true, when we have too many possessions, they end up bossing us around. Many people in today's world are captivated by technology....and thereby become the captives. Clever word choice and a well written poem. Lydi**
