The black butterfly

Just a poem, hope you get the meaning.

So, it's you again at my door,
One, who used to be here so often.
An always shape shifting,
Eternal illusion,
An escaped love butterfly,
On a pair of broken wings.
Fly, just keep flying on,
I'm afraid of going mad again,
So just let me forget you,
Before I hurt you again.
My opened arms an infinite maze,
My heart is frosty, hard as a rock,
Run away, while it's not too late.
Fly, just fly away.

Look, who starts this game,
Can loose only once, but for all.
Fly just fly away,
Before I hurt you again.
So just fly, just fly sky high.

The night stretches webs,
To catch you again,
Frosty my heart is.
So just fly away,
Run away, while you can.

Fly, just fly on,
Before you get hurt.
So just fly away.

Whoa... I'm amazed now.
I know the song, too.
But, I think it's not just pushing someone away, to avoid hurting them...
It's like a piece of your heart wants them all the best, and wants to see them enjoy a happy life... And the other piece going through the painful realization, that they have to get there, on their own. Because, -as it feels like- you think, you're incapable of giving that to them. Incapable, as in not strong, or smart enough.
And if I may, not only that you feel like being "not good enough"
But also as unnecessary weight, pulling them away, thus hurting them.

But, you know -should know - that it's not true.
You have always been an inspiration to me. Ever since I've read your works, and found the very deep meaning in even the simplest ones, ever since we're a couple ...
And, how many new people can thank you, for the warm welcome, and all the help you gave them.

Still, you write this, an eternal, internal struggle.
One side wanting this, the other wanting that.
Priceless write.

Nice work... it really could be turned into a song. I love the repetitive use of the lines fly, just fly away. It symbolizes so much more than just flying, but the meaning of the pain it avoids is detailed perfectly. Good work Danny!

Personally touched me with this, I hate to be cliche but the struggle is real. It's hard to choose this or that, run or stay, hide and show your feelings. It seems like a good option, then it doesn't. You never know what to choose! Do you want to stay and possibly have something amazing or possibly get hurt? Or trust your instincts and just run away while you still can?

Lovely piece of writing, I hope to see more of it and will gladly read anything you request. You, my dear friend, are an excellent and talented writer.

Recently, lots of stuff happened... my ex called... long story. "family " abusive (as usual.) bf kinda unhappy. lots of crap, and it feels like i could have done something, but didn't. missed chance. point is it all made me feel dead weight to everyone i know.
to the point, where i wished for all i know, to just leave me.
