Greatness Diminished

Greatness Diminished

A Poem by 暗い雪

That day I looked into your eyes
Lit up like the 4th of July
If that light were to ever leave
I think I would cry

Your smile went from ear to ear
What you said I was glad to hear
Just listen when I say believe
There's nothing to fear

Everything is now clear to me
Please, right now I need you to see
My wick is quickly burning out
Darkness meant to be

My fists are clenched when thinking it
Jesus must be having a fit
An ongoing storm of peril
Why did you do it?

Spoke it for the last time today
Wish somehow you could make me stay
You know I finally gave up
It's my darkest day

That day I looked into your eyes
Your smile went from ear to ear
Everything is now clear to me
My fists are clenched when thinking it
Spoke it for the last time today

Lit up like the 4th of July
What you said I was glad to hear
Please right now I need you to see
Jesus must be having a fit
Wish somehow you could make me stay

If that light were to ever leave
Just listen when I say believe
My wick is quickly burning out
An ongoing storm of peril
You know I finally gave up

I think I would cry
Theres nothing to fear
Darkness meant to be
Why did you do it?
It's my darkest day.

That day I looked into your eyes
Only thing keeping me alive
I'm sorry you have to hear this
But now I will cry
