I Don't Need Nobody

I Don't Need Nobody

A Poem by David Pitman

Gonna wrap my baby up and hold her tight
Keep her warm through the stormy night
I don't need nobody
I don't need your body

When the darkness falls I won't be alone
Its just me and these strings singin' our songs
I don't need nobody
'cause I've got somebody

To sing with, to dance with, to tell all my stories to...My guitar.

I don't need your hand to hold my hand
When I can take my baby and jam with any band
I don't need nobody
I don't need your body

When I'm on stage its not you I think of
When I sing those songs of eternal love
I don't need nobody
'cause I've got somebody

To sing with, to dance with, to tell all my stories to
To laugh with, and cry with, when I'm feeling blue...My guitar

She keeps me warm at night
Keeps me out of fights
Reminds me that its okay
Sometimes to run away...My guitar

I loved how you personified the Guitar! Very well writen work. I used to have car that was akin to your guitar. And how true that its ok to run aways some times. Give a person time to heal. Wonderful poem. I liked it alot!
