48 Hours

48 Hours

A Poem by Delaney Thomas

All it took was 48 hours.
48 hours to realize that happiness is out there.
48 hours to realize that people do love me (even if it's hard to believe sometimes).
48 hours to see the light through all the darkness and feel the breeze in a stuffy box.
48 hours to know that I can make it through.
48 hours of pure joy to erase all the pain in my world.
48 hours to weaken my demons and raise my hope.
48 hours was all I needed to start living again.
