to her.

I rarely talk to you

but when I do,

it was only I who knew.

I whisper “I love you” from afar,

and it makes me feel close.

You are

someone that makes

every contraction a smile

instead of a mere beat.

My

heart

is stoned.

It pounds loud

yet only I can hear it.

At the sight of you,

it wants to jump out of my ribs

and fall to the ground.

I picked it up

a thousand times already.

Now, let me pick it up again.

But this time,

instead of putting it back into place,

I’ll go to you and say,

“I believe this is yours.”

Stylistically, I liked this piece. I think the centering of the font, creating shapes really added to the emotion of it. I liked the simplicity of what I was reading. May I also add that I can feel the love expressed between two people. Especially one who wants to say something to an unexpected person. Surprises, surprises. Sometimes those kind of people are best to express to. Good piece!
