I'm RED.

I'm RED.

A Poem by deadlife
"

war.anger.rebel.actions.deeds.

"

Striking hard against my skin
It’s trying to vent its anger.
My pores
Glutinous
As I walk, my feet squelch
At every step,
It’s all dripping.
Bleeding
From everywhere
I’m RED.
Hard to throw against a will
I cannot move
I’m sticky gore.
My breath reeks
My eyes…
I’m at war within
A war so brutal,
And it’s bleeding me
Drop after drop. . .

Very good imagery. I like the short structure you used. You have made it into the first cut of finalists for my imagery contest.

I know this, but mine is always black. very visual, nicely done.

Once again, I found myself reading this on two levels- literal and metaphorical. This poem reads very well on both levels; I had a lot of fun with it. I enjoy poems that can be read several different ways. They are thought-provoking, which I also enjoy. Inner battles are always tough, but sometimes rewarding. Keep fighting the good fight; I've a feeling you will prevail.
