The Ultimate Creation

The Ultimate Creation

A Poem by The Rock And Roll Cowboy(REBEL WITH A CAUSE)
"

I was challenged to write about The bride of Frankenstein's monster. So here it is.

"

Oh my master what have you done,

Making another one

The same but also unlike me.

Are these butterflies

Inside my stomach

Spare parts like the rest on me?

If so I want them removed.

Why does this creature

Torment my borrowed heart?

Must be a malfunction

From the human donor

In which it came from,

But then why does it feel so real?

Oh please my master

Dismantle this creation

That brings me an ache

That cannot be explained.

My knees must be defective

Because they feel so weak

When she walks in the room.

What kind of special power

Did you grace it with?

For it is not fair

To be powerless against it.

What kind of eyes

Did you put in that experiment?

For they draw me in

Making me feel vulnerable

And I can’t have that.

For someone built to be alone

I have a sudden urge

To have a companion,

More specifically that monstrosity

You brought to life.

Respectively my master

I do believe you made a mistake.

Oh no, why does it stand so close to me?

I must be allergic

Cause I got a tickle in my throat

And I can barely breathe.

Why has she put her

Stolen hand in mine?

Now I feel a rush more electric

That the lightening

That brought me to life.

Make it stop master,

Make it go away,

Oh master I…

Never mind my master

For I will accept this fate

You have bestowed upon me

For I know it is too late

To run from this connection

That scares me.

Oh and master,

One last thing…

You’ve done fine work here.

Run away, the natural response, when girl meets boy,who do we listen to,some over powering physical ,chemical connection, that compliments or complicates you don't know till your falling that the water is shallow, hot,or frozen.

Actually reading Frankenstein at the moment. You captured the torment of this creature and how he would feel if his bride was created..wonderful.

I like this, very playful and the emotions are so true. I really like the ending. We all must accept our fates, huh?

Fascinating, funny and cleverly written piece on the act of creation. Which brings up a larger question, what responsibilty do we have to our creations? Even our art. I think you met the challenge... Thanks for sharing this Dale, Halloween being one of my favorite times of the year

This was really neat and was interesting to read so close to Halloween! I liked it, and the way you stayed in character with stolen parts made it feel that it was real, which made it even greater. Good job as always.

HAHA! This is amazingly clever. I enjoyed it. It's romantic…which I did not expect. I hope your challenger gave you a prize; you definitely deserve one for this.
