Reap What You Soul

Reap What You Soul

A Poem by The Rock And Roll Cowboy(REBEL WITH A CAUSE)

Treading the murky waters

when the arm isn’t long enough
to reach a helpless hand.

Only One finger above water

may ruin the soles of your shoes

but the heart will feel baptized

in a cool mountain stream.

It takes work to help someone in need. Nicely done!

~ very interesting and profound word play in the title... ~ my interpretation of these incredibly poetic lines: when one experiences the depths of one's inadequacy, one is not in a position to extend "a helping hand" to anyone... but in that experience of smallness... humility is born... making one humane... enabling one to lend a helping hand in the future... thus, the "murky waters" turn into "a cool mountain stream"...
