Evolving Through The Written Word

  

The sound of silence drowns out the clatter

of life’s wheels in motion.

So turning a deaf ear to the negative screeching

has become obsolete.

Never do I worry when the elevator is broken

for I relish in the rush of climbing the stairs

till the wind from wings clears the dirt

that has settled on the bookshelves of my mind.

This allows me to read the story of my life

without a dust cloud affecting my perceptions of the past.

This is the kind of clarity that allows me to write the future

with less typos than before.

I know errors will still occur,

but the edits will not be as extreme.

I like when other writers write about the writing experience, there is always a bond to be formed in those letters. For me personally, I have a tough time realizing when to let a poem go, mulling over every possible format and line break it can be maddening. It is good Dale that you have found a space to write with clarity, I think that is the key, a good peaceful simple routine. A meditation of sort. Thank you sir, for sharing this
