Time Will Tell What The Heart Can't Hide

Time Will Tell What The Heart Can't Hide

A Poem by The Rock And Roll Cowboy(REBEL WITH A CAUSE)

Cinderella rhymes

Have no rhythm

In a land

Where the Prince

Carries his own baggage.

The white horse

Abandons the carriage

That is being circled

By vultures

Picking apart

The handsome hero

Till he is so disfigured

He resembles the peasant

He put to death

For simply putting

His family first.

Crimes of the heart

Are hard to define

What is good or bad

Unless they are judged

By one who charms you

Into a fairytale world.

damn this is wicked smart.

being charmed into a fairytale world...it happens...we forget reality...which is a life of baggage and just trying to do the best for those we love...but some put us to death for that...even if it means metaphorically killing our hearts.

Direct and honest fairytale. Most fairy tales end in bad endings in real life. I like the ending. Left some question and mystery. Thank you for sharing the excellent poetry.

'In a land ~ Where the Prince ~ Carries his own baggage.'

Oh my, there are some unusual thoughts in this: a mix of romance and bent realism, metaphorical wanderings I'm not entirely sure of..

But that or not, this is a powerfu and graphic piece of writing!
