I Said (I Didn't Say)

I Said (I Didn't Say)

A Poem by The Rock And Roll Cowboy(REBEL WITH A CAUSE)

Verbal exchanges

draws us closer,

sometimes…

tears us apart.

Endless harmonies

sung of praises

touches our souls

deepest melody.

Days get clearer

nights less lonely

when solo pasts

become future duets.

Higher the climb

the deeper the hole,

hard for sunlight

to take hold.

When I said it

mind wonders

Freudian Slip? Not why you think…

It’s what I didn’t say

that dug this grave.

the last line actually sent a chill down my back - I write way more concisely than I speak - I speak a lot mind you lol - just don't get my point across as well as when I write. I always realize later the things I forgot to say and meant to - most times I can go back and rectify that - but - sometimes it can be too late. awesome job.

Love is often in the little things. The looks, the holding hands, the three simple words. Sometimes we forget that and what we are really wanting to express gets lost in the grand gestures we think the other person expects.
I really like this piece. It's like a message to get back to the roots of your relationship, before the reasons for being in the relationship are gone and there is nothing left. It is really well done in a very subtle kind of way.

I really liked this.....a lot a lot.

Just one thing:
Day get clearer - is Day supposed to be Days?
