Ode To Springtime

Ode To Springtime

A Poem by The Rock And Roll Cowboy(REBEL WITH A CAUSE)

The dynamic sounds of the bats cracking

is music to my ears

letting me know that time of year is near.

The glorious vision of birds in the air

is a sight for sore eyes

making it a treat to look in the sky.

The sweet smell of fresh blooms

is serenity to my nose

tickling my senses and making them smile.

What a time of year

with warm days and gentle breezes.

Gray days go gently away

as colors begin to caress

nature’s wondrous turf.

Though all the seasons

have their special gifts,

springtime is my favorite one

for it breathes new life

into collapsing lungs.

Your work is always so fresh and new, which is one of the things I most like about it. You always give your readers innovative work. I can smell the spring air in this one and visualize all the colours of the buds and blossoms.

A piece which suggests hope and renewal, along with striking imagery. No spring rain? I'm just surprised because I know how much you love the rain.

I'm smiling. Thanks for the post, Dale. Photo is oh - so pretty.

VERY nice ode. you use really great phrases here and that creates spot on imagery. Thanks for letting me know what real seasons are like, in Ireland we have 3 winters and a surprise summer[be a surprise if it comes at all] The last verse is wonderful.....new life into collapsing lungs...stylish!

Another beautifully penned piece. It makes me want to throw open all my windows and doors to allow the fresh air inside. Well done.

Now that makes more sense. Like I should know that one since my son is on 5 teams!! Take me down to the ballgame. Crackling bats does strike up the image of spring after all. lol

NO NO!@! Not the BATS! Love spring but could do without the bats. They got in my son's bedroom one year, and we had to do the whole rabies shots thing. Nice poem about spring.

' The sweet smell of fresh blooms / is serenity to my nose / tickling my senses and making them smile.'

Three great lines and so true. This just another example of what a fine poet you are, Dale. You write with such a wonderful appreciation of everything about you. Seems you can put 'pen to paper' about anything and in any genre.

Thank you so much for sharing.

Hey Dale....a nice tribute to the newness of spring! It is so grand to have all the flowers, and new life springing forth!
I enjoyed every line, but especially like your ending.....boy that new breath is always welcome!
Love and Hugs,
Sheila
