Chain Reaction (Deja Vu)

Chain Reaction (Deja Vu)

A Poem by The Rock And Roll Cowboy(REBEL WITH A CAUSE)

Again I set out on this road

            that’s not so less traveled…

Just not traveled upon

            by people of personal connection…

Connections of heart and soul

being separated by the razors edge…

An edge I willingly walk for years

leaving miles of scars on my heels…

Scars that turn into salvation

walking this concrete jungle on sunny days…

The kind of days that leave me blind

to the importance of the future…

A future drifting further from innocence

till it is long forgotten with the lullabies…

Those lullabies sung to me as protection

            from the monsters ruling midnight…

A relentless midnight showing no fear

when hunting me down upon the sun’s setting…

Round and round,

it’s an endless full circle

keeping me in a state of

                                    déjà vu…

Should it be "willingly walk" ?
My favorite lines are of lullabies sung for protection at night,
though no one ever sang them to me. I sang them to my son.
I guess that is why there are still monsters invading my space.
That feeling of deja vu is haunting. I oft times feel it.
I enjoyed reading this write.

So mystical, alluring your words. I've felt deja vu before, and
it's a very strange feeling for sure. You have some great lines
here too for example: leaving miles of scars on my heels…
Scars that turn into salvation
A relentless midnight showing no fear
when hunting me down upon the sun’s setting…
Thanks for sharing my friend:).

Wonderful poem you have written. I think we all feel this way in our lives at some point and wish for something different and out of the ordinary to happen to us. I think it is part of my spirit the longs for freedom of the mundane life I live the part of my rebellious wild side that is screaming for something new and wonderful to happen.

Seems I have walked down this road before too. You have written another great poem, Dale.

Its amazing to see people grow in their art, and you have taken leaps and bounds since i met you! This is a very intelligent piece of writing, makes one think, causes speculation...by challenging the reader to grasp what you mean, as they also gaze inwardly at how it applies to them too. This also has a haunting quality, a bit of mystery for one to think of those monster's and try to remember the lullaby to shoo them away.
great piece!
sorry i wasnt after writing you a book on it, seems to happen sometimes...LOL!!

Yes I agree, life is one big Deja VU,,, but as you state?
it is the circle of life, so as long as I get the better end
of Deja vu? then I know I spinning in the right circle!!
this was very good... you got the uhhhhh huuh from me!!!!!

It does seem like we keep repeating what we know, I guess a person must really want to break the cycle, perhaps when the deja vu hits, then they will if it isn't so good. Very powerful write.

I know the feeling of around and around. I feel like a wild bear lock-up sometimes. A outstanding poem. Made me think. Thank you.
