I'm No Alice But This Is Certainly A Wonderland

I'm No Alice But This Is Certainly A Wonderland

A Poem by The Rock And Roll Cowboy(REBEL WITH A CAUSE)
"

hmmmm... now I have too much time to think

"

On days free of pain

I begin to ponder

How much I have grown (that day),

After all on days the sky is blue

The earth begins to dry.

So why curse the rain

When too many sunny days

Dehydrates fertile land?

These mysteries of life

Leave me dumbfounded

Yet keep my mind

Sharp as a tack.

If life is really a circus

Then my mind must be

The Ferris wheel;

My soul the house of mirrors;

And my heart…

     Definitely the dunk tank.

I do believe that laughter

Is the best medicine

Even though I know

That would mean I should live forever

Though the seasons keep telling me

That could never be.

Everyday seems to be an endless fall

Down the rabbit hole;

For the most part I do enjoy the ride,

Just occasionally get motion sickness.

And Dale its one hell of a ride or fall sometimes. While some are getting too much rain, others are wilting from the lack of moisture. A great poem as always, you should try and put it to music.

Thank you so much, that is an interesting idea.
The poet can bring up little bits of wisdom and truth from even the darkest most suffocating places, he just needs to make sure he resurfaces from that dunk tank. Thought provoking piece, Dale.

My pleasure xoxo
Wonderful use of metaphors. Very delightful read. My favorite stanza:

If life is really a circus

Then my mind must be

The Ferris wheel;

My soul the house of mirrors;

And my heart…

Definitely the dunk tank.

Excellent poem. Loved it.

I love the metaphors you use in this piece. Life can be a bit of a circus. We never know what is going to happen from one moment to the next. Our souls can reflect many things in many different way much like fun house mirror. Our hearts can feel like dunk tanks I just prefer mind to be dunked in love, kindness, hope and friendship.

Playful use of words and imagery! Exquisite description " Yet keep my mind as sharp as a tack" Effortless and clean flow.

What a wonderfully imaginative play on Alice, combining it with your thoughts on life and all its goings-on. Yes, in spite of its up and downs, round and rounds, life is great, even if there is the occasional bout of motion sickness! And you're correct, laugher is the very best remedy, could even be the elixir Man's searching for. Iin the meantime we can just hope and pray and live for every day .. thanks for the reminder, Dale.

I feel the same way, this seem to be so true for me. lol
I hear ya on the motion sickness.
The laughter, the crying, they balance each other out in my book.
This was a wonderful piece
Sometimes life can be a biggest rollercoaster ever. but once we get on and ride it to the end, MAN!!!
